About Us

G’day!

We are an Australian (Gaz) and an American (Jen) who love animals, the ocean and travel.  I (Gaz) am into volcanoes.  Jen is into running.  We have two young kids (children) and have two older girls (from a pervious life).   We started our ‘farming’ adventure with a small farm on the plains of Colorado (just east of Boulder) – BluBelle Farm – from which we moved to Maine in 2010.

We now live on a 12 acre farm in rural Casco, Maine, USA.   We purchased the farm as two separate lots in February 2012 and plan to renovate the buildings and regenerate the farm into a horse/hobby property.   The farm is around 10 acres of beautiful grazing/pasture land with a couple of acres of forest.

It will always be a work in progress.  The little house has required some major work already – a new septic system, new furnace and plumbing, a new kitchen, painting, carpet etc.  Our first few years has been very much focused on getting the house a happy, livable home for the family.   The little barn also required some dramatic internal work as previous owners had removed some critical structural beams/posts and we needed a place for our horse Maggie.

We have some grand plans – but it will be small steps at a time to turn our dreams into a reality.

Murramarang…strange name for a farm!
Our farm in Maine is named after a special National Park in New South Wales, Australia.  This park surrounds our special place on Earth (Durras) where we love to holiday with the whole family.

Murramarang is an Australian Aboriginal word with no specific/known translation.   So we like to think that it means ‘little slice of heaven’… 🙂
